Eugene K Dight III, DVM
Dr. Dight has been an associate, partner, and now sole owner of Skagit Animal Clinic since 1981. He attended the University of Washington from 1973 to 1976, transferring to Washington State University where he received a BS in Veterinary Science. In 1980 he graduated Cum Laude from WSU’s College of Veterinary Medicine. Before joining the team at SAC he worked a year in Cottage Grove, Oregon at the Cottage Grove Animal Hospital.
Dr. Dight has lived in the Skagit Valley since 1981. He and his wife Molly have four grown children and currently reside in the Bow area. When Dr. Dight has free time he likes to spend it fishing, scuba diving, camping or sometimes you can find him in his woodworking shop just tinkering around. He also enjoys spending time with the grandchildren.
Kirsten Richard, DVM
Dr. Richard was a 1992 Regent’s Scholar, and Cum Laude graduate of the University of California in Davis. She attended Washington State University and in 1996 graduated Cum Laude from their College of Veterinary Medicine. Dr Richard originally worked at Skagit Animal Clinic from 1996 to 1998 but had to leave the area due to a family illness. She returned to the Skagit Valley and SAC in 2006 and has been with us since.
When she has the time Dr. Richard likes to hike, ski, and spend time horseback riding.
Rachel Bergman, VMD
Dr. Rachel Bergman grew up in New York and New Jersey and graduated from the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine in 1994. After completing a one year internship program at California Animal Hospital in Los Angeles she worked at a small animal emergency clinic as well as a general practice in Southern California for 11 years. She became interested in alternative medicine modalities after experiences with chronic lameness in her own geriatric Husky dog. Relocating to Bainbridge Island, Washington, Dr. Bergman received her certification in small animal acupuncture and traditional Chinese veterinary medicine in 2005 and started her own acupuncture and alternative medicine practice. In 2011 she returned to school and received her certification in animal chiropractic care. Dr. Bergman now lives in Anacortes with her husband, two rambunctious mixed breed dogs and three cats.

In our clinic we are proud to have several staff members who have been at Skagit Animal Clinic for over 15 years, some for longer than twenty; Tonya Brumley, LVT Sue Carpenter, our Office Manager,Rose Simonseth, Client Relations Coordinator, Brenda Wiss, Bookkeeper;They are the experienced staff core at the center of our clinic.
